Sameroom collects the following information to provide our service:
- Email address — for account creation, authentication, and transactional notifications.
- Idea text — the ideas, problems, and concepts you submit through our platform.
- Embedding vectors — mathematical representations generated from your idea text using AI, used solely for matching purposes.
- Cluster assignments and similarity scores — the outputs of our matching algorithm that group related ideas together.
- Profile information — display name and avatar you choose to share.
- Contact details — LinkedIn URL or email address you optionally provide to be contactable by matched cluster members.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. Sameroom never stores credit card numbers or banking details directly.
- Usage data and analytics — anonymised data about how you interact with the platform to help us improve the service.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Match users with similar ideas using AI semantic clustering.
- Send transactional notification emails when new members join a cluster you are part of.
- Process payments for cluster unlocks via Stripe.
- Improve the accuracy and quality of our matching algorithm.
- Communicate product updates and important service announcements.
Idea privacy
Your idea text is stored securely and is never displayed publicly. It is used only to generate a mathematical representation for matching purposes.
Other users see only that a match exists and a similarity score — never your exact words unless you choose to share them in discussion.
What we do not do
- We never sell user data to third parties.
- We never expose individual idea text publicly.
- We never share personal information with other users without explicit consent through the unlock mechanic.
Contact unlocks and consent
When a user pays to unlock cluster contacts, both parties receive a notification. By submitting contact details, you consent to being contactable by matched cluster members who have paid to unlock.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@sameroom.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party services
We rely on the following third-party services to operate Sameroom:
- Supabase — for database storage and authentication.
- OpenAI — for generating idea embeddings used in matching.
- Stripe — for payment processing.
- Resend — for transactional email delivery.
Each of these services has their own privacy policy and handles data in accordance with their respective terms.
